Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka, born in Minsk (the capital city of Belarus) She is the child of Sergey. Her father Sergey (d. 2019.) was an Ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5 1998. Her career has seen her achieve twelve WTA singles championships, which includes the Grand Slam in the Australian Open of 2023. In her role as a specialist in doubles, she also has won the US Open of 2019 as and her first Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. Together with the Belgian tennis star, she also took home her the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami in the year 2019, making her the Sunshine Double. The women's doubles had only four teams achieve this feat. World singles rankings rose yet again, reaching its top position on the 20th of January, 2023. As a doubles player, she was able to propel herself to the top of the list at the beginning of February that year following her victory in Melbourne being the first tennis player born in Belarus to be a part of the sport of doubles. Dmitry Tursunov, a former Russian tennis star, played with her throughout her 2018 season to the end and part of the 2020 season. Dieter Kindlmann was also the coach she had for a short period between August and September of 2020. As of the year 2020's end, she's been coaching by her fellow countryman Antonio Dubrov. Her idols include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
